SEASIDE, Calif. (KION)

Homeless veterans in the Central Coast received some attention and care from the Red Cross on Monday afternoon at the Veterans Transition Center in Seaside.

The veterans lined up for bags filled with toothpaste, ponchos, towels and other basic items.

Everyone participating, including the homeless, wore masks to protect themselves from the spread of COVID-19. Still, their eyes that were visible, lit up with an appreciation for the care kits.
