Presidential candidate Michael Bloomberg prepares to visit the Central Coast

Presidential candidate Michael Bloomberg will be visiting the Central Coast today as part of his 2020 campaign.

According to Bloomberg's campaign team, he will be stopping in Oakland first before coming to Monterey. Here, he plans to discuss his stance on climate change.

The event will take place at The Barns at Cooper Molera at 3:00pm.

Bloomberg's campaign has so far stood out in a few ways. Voters didn't see him in the last debate, and they won't be seeing him in future ones. That's because he's self-funding his campaign and therefore does not reach the donor threshold necessary to qualify for the debates.

The campaign is also making it clear it's operating as a general election candidacy--not just in the Democratic primary. So the billionaire businessman is taking a clear stance against President Trump. And he's doing so by spending millions of dollars in television advertisements.

In making this national push, he's breaking away from what the other Democratic candidates are doing by focusing on the four early caucus and primary states: Iowa, New Hampshire, Nevada and South Carolina.
