Santa Cruz Police release 2024 New Year’s Eve maximum enforcement numbers

SANTA CRUZ, Calif. (KION-TV) -- Santa Cruz Police announced on New Year's Day that they deployed patrol officers throughout city neighborhoods and another group of officers on foot in the downtown corridor during New Year's Eve.

At the peak, SCPD said that they estimated the crowd size to be 3,000 people.

The Downtown Deployment crew reported issuing four citations, nine triple fines, two misdemeanor arrests and one felony.
