House fire on Delaware early Thursday morning in Santa Cruz; Santa Cruz Fire Department

SANTA CRUZ, Calif. (KION-TV) -- The Santa Cruz Fire Department announced that a structure fire broke out on the 2300 block of Delaware Avenue early Thursday morning around 12:30 a.m.

The fire department said that the first unit on scene to the double wide modular home saw smoke in the rear. They said when more units arrived on scene, they noticed an exterior fire in the crawl space near the back of the home.

Firefighters extinguished the fire and checked the home for more fire as well as victims.

They said the fire was contained to one quarter of the home and determined to be accidental.
