Man arrested in connection to Monterey theft

MONTEREY, Calif. (KION) A man has been arrested in connection with a theft that occurred on Tyler Street Monday.

Police responded to the 300 block of Tyler Street at 9:10 a.m. after receiving a report saying that something had been stolen from inside an unlocked vehicle. Security cameras caught the burglary on tape.

Two days later, officers observed 55-year-old Los Angeles resident Joseph Bollom walking on North Fremont Street near Airport Road. Bollom was positively identified as the suspect and taken into custody.

Bollom was found to be on parole with a felony warrant for a parole violation.

He was booked into the Monterey County Jail on charges of theft, theft during a state of emergency, tampering with a vehicle, prowling and parole violation.
