Lockdown lifted after a loaded gun found at Seaside High School

SEASIDE, Calif. (KION-TV) -- Seaside police announced Thursday that Seaside High School was on lockdown briefly due to an altercation between students that resulted in a loaded gun found.

Police say that while the gun was not used and did not get fired, it fell from one of the student's bodies during the fight.

Seaside police and school staff say that they secured the area and placed a lockdown on the school that has since been lifted.

The only injury reported was the student without the gun injuring his hand during the fight.

Police say that everyone is safe and there is no threat to the community at this time.
