UPDATE 8/2/2021 8:30 p.m. California Highway Patrol Officers in the San Bernardino area have identified one of the drivers in the collision that killed a Salinas 4-month-old Saturday.
CHP says at around 12:55 p.m., 50-year-old Ranulfo Bugarin was driving a 2006 Blue Kenworth was traveling on I-15 northbound, south of Oak Hill Road.
They add that the driver of a 2003 Gray Honda Accord was a 52-year-old female from Salinas, but they did not release her name.

UPDATE 8/2/2021 3 p.m. The family of a 4-month-old Salinas resident killed in a crash in Hesperia has created a GoFundMe to raise money to put the child to rest.
The child, whose name is Ehlani Barraza in the GoFundMe and Elanie Barraba according to investigators, was killed when the vehicle she was in reportedly hit the back of a big rig.
"I lost my babygirl to a car accident it was so sudden everything went too fast for us, she was the most happy and loving baby anyone could meet her smile filled up the whole room," the organizer of the fundraiser, Denise Castro, wrote. "She was loved by many especially her parents and grandparents, we are grieving too the fullest at the mommy. 4 month baby had more to live but she was too perfect for earth god needed her back. I ask if you all could help me and my family to put my babygirl to rest in Salinas Ca, anything will help cents, a dollar, 5 dollars please help us on our hard time. Thank you and I hope you all understand. "
UPDATE 8/2/2021 10:25 a.m. California Highway Patrol Officers in the San Bernardino area have released more details about a crash that killed a Salinas 4-month-old Saturday.
The CHP said a vehicle with five occupants, including the child, was heading north on I-15 south of Oak Kills Road at an unknown speed when it veered to the right for unknown reasons. After the vehicle veered, it hit the back of a big rig.
Nobody was ejected, but everyone in the vehicle had moderate injuries, except for the child, Elanie Barraba, who was pronounced dead at the Desert Valley Hospital in Victorville.
Officers believe the whole family is from Salinas. They do not believe drugs or alcohol were factors in the crash.
PREVIOUS STORY: The San Bernardino County Sheriff's Office coroner has identified the four-month-old killed in a crash in Hesperia as a Salinas resident.
The coroner says Elanie Barraba was a passenger in the crash and was pronounced dead at the Desert Valley Hospital in Victorville around 1:30 p.m. Sunday.
Investigators say the crash happened at Interstate 15 and Oak Hill Road in Hesperia just before 1 p.m.
The coroner's office provided no further information and is directing questions to CHP San Bernardino.
