Santa Cruz METRO to limit the number of riders and ask riders to cover their face

Santa Cruz METRO Transit District

SANTA CRUZ COUNTY, Calif. (KION)

On Wednesday evening, Santa Cruz Metro issued a notice regarding new guidelines for riders.

In an effort to follow social distancing guidelines recommended by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), all buses are now limited to a maximum of 12 people.

Limitations will be enforced by the bus driver.

During the rides, seats will be blocked off and no passenger will be allowed to stand.

METRO says it is strongly "encouraging" riders to cover their faces with a mask or any other type of covering.

Highway 17 service will be reduced on the weekends.
