Climate prosperity for Pajaro Valley awarded $300 thousand for improvements

California is awarding $96 million to climate projects in 10 communities across the state. One of them is right here on the Central Coast.

Monterey County will receive nearly $300 thousand to fund the "Climate prosperity for Pajaro Valley." That's according to the Governor's Office.

The project will pave the way to improve the unincorporated Pajaro neighborhood near downtown Watsonville, which is a majority farmworker community. Including affordable housing, food security, environmental health, and more.

It will be co-designed by a community coalition and Monterey County.
