Motorcyclist killed in crash in Santa Cruz

SANTA CRUZ, Calif. (KION-TV) UPDATE Mar 31st 2022 at 10:36 p.m. A 21-year-old Santa Cruz man is dead after a motorcycle crash at the intersection of Bay and Meder Street in Santa Cruz around 5 p.m. Thursday night, according to Santa Cruz Police Department. 

Police said the motorcyclist died at the scene.

Authorities added an investigation revealed the motorcyclist was traveling at a high-speed when he crashed into a traffic sign at the intersection.

SANTA CRUZ, Calif. (KION-TV)-- Santa Cruz police are currently investigating a solo motorcyclist fatality crash on Bay Street, according to police.

The road is currently blocked at Bay Street from Nobel to High Street.

Drivers can expect heavy traffic delays and should avoid the area if possible.
