Hiker rescued from embankment in Santa Cruz Mountains

SANTA CRUZ COUNTY, Calif. (KION) A hiker was rescued using rope systems Monday afternoon, according to Cal Fire CZU.

Firefighters from Corralitos and Burrell along with Company 41 volunteers rescued the hiker, who was 900 feet up an embankment.

The firefighters had to hike the hill and build several rope systems to get the person to safety.
