Woman arrested after stabbing in Santa Cruz

SANTA CRUZ, Calif. (KION) Santa Cruz Police arrested a 19-year-old after a stabbing at a public parking lot on Front Street Friday night.

Police said when officers got to the scene, they found a man who had been stabbed shortly after 6 p.m. 19-year-old Michelle Antonio-Moreno was arrested and booked into the Santa Cruz County jail on charges of assault with a deadly weapon.

The male victim, identified as 46 year-old George Mario Castellanos was taken to the hospital and treated for his injuries. Police said he is in stable condition.

Antonio-Moreno was also taken to the hospital for treatment of non-life
threatening injuries related to a fight.

A motive has yet to be determined.
