Sheriff’s Office: Driver leads law enforcement on chase from Salinas to Morgan Hill

Monterey County Sheriff's Office

SALINAS, Calif. (KION) The driver of a stolen vehicle has been arrested after a chase that crossed county lines, according to the Monterey County Sheriff's Office.

The driver of the stolen F-550 led Salinas police on a chase heading north on Highway 101, and in Gilroy, the California Highway Patrol was able to spike the truck's tires, the Sheriff's Office said.

Video then shows the suspect continuing the chase while driving on the rims and "made quite the light show for deputies."

Eventually, the Sheriff's Office said the suspect crashed into a guardrail in Morgan Hill. The Sheriff's Office said he ran across traffic on Highway 101, and Morgan Hill police found the suspect hiding under a tree.
