Pedestrian killed in crash at Mission and King Streets in Santa Cruz

SANTA CRUZ, Calif. (KION) A pedestrian has died of his injuries following a crash on Mission and King Streets in Santa Cruz.

Police said at about 6:45 p.m. Thursday, a 45-year-old man from Santa Cruz County was crossing Mission Street in a marked crosswalk when he was hit by a vehicle heading north.

When first responders got to the scene, police said they tried to save his live and took him to Dominican Hospital, but he died of his injuries at the hospital. His identity has not been released.

Police are continuing to investigate the crash, and the coroner's office is working on a death investigation. Anyone with information is asked to call Sgt. Morey at 831-420-5857.
