SALINAS, Calif. (KION) Two men who police say are gang members were arrested on gun and drug charges.

Officers said they pulled over a vehicle near N. Main Street and Rossi Street for vehicle violations, and they used K-9 Oakley to sniff the vehicle.

Oakley alerted officers to two locations in the vehicle, according to police, and two loaded, unregistered, semi-automatic guns were found.

Police arrested the driver, 19-year-old Fabian Moreno, and his passenger, 20-year-old Max Tatro. Officers said when the men were searched, they had cocaine in their pockets.

Both were booked into the Monterey County Jail on several gang, drug and gun-related charges.
