Evacuation center moves from King City Library to King City High School

KING CITY, Calif. (KION) Monterey county announced that its evacuation center has moved from the King City Library to the King City High School gym.

The center opened Thursday, and it is located at 720 Broadway in King City. The hours are still from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

The county said it is making the move to have a larger space. It would be able to accommodate more people while also allowing for physical distancing.

The center provides information, disaster application assistance, emergency housing and RV vouchers to county residents affected by wildfires.

For more help, the county said you can call 831-385-5461, dial 0 and then enter the extension 1302. People with after hour needs for evacuee hotel placement can call 831-385-3677.
