Woman dies in crash on Highway 1 near Imjin
MARINA, Calif. (KION) A woman has died as a result of a crash in Marina Tuesday.
The California Highway Patrol said a Chevy Blazer was heading north on the highway and swerved to avoid a small couch in the fast lane. The vehicle swerved to the right before swerving back to the left and into the center divide.
The vehicle hit a guardrail and the driver, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was ejected.
There was also a service dog in the vehicle with her, but it is doing well and was taken to an animal shelter.
The California Highway Patrol said alcohol and drugs to not appear to be a factor in the crash, but a lane of the highway was closed until the vehicle could be moved.
