CAPITOLA, Calif. (KION)

At midnight tonight, many indoor business operations in Santa Cruz County will be shutting down following orders for closures from Governor Gavin Newsom.

Outdoor and curbside services will continue but employees and business owners inside the Capitola Mall say they are worried they may be unemployed.

While many business can continue outdoor operations, it is difficult for many.

"“The large anchor stores, the Target, the MACY’S are going to be directly impacted. And how is that going to impact the smaller businesses inside the mall? The traffic is going to just disappear," says Santa Cruz County Chamber member, Casey Beyer.

The Santa Cruz County Chamber says the Capitola Mall is one of the city of Capitola's biggest revenue sources.

Some business owners and staff say they will consider moving their business outdoors if it is a possibility for them.
