Three young males wanted for allegedly blowing up mailbox in Gilroy

GILROY, Calif. (KION) Gilroy police are looking for three males accused of blowing up a mailbox.

Last Monday at around 9:45 p.m., police said three young males used an explosive device to blow up a mailbox in the 9500 block of Rancho Hills Way. Shrapnel damaged a vehicle windshield and a garage door.

Based on video from the neighborhood, police believe all three got there in a white SUV and possible an older model Ford Excursion. Two of the suspects are pictured, and police said the one wearing jeans appeared to be the driver. They believe the one in the red shirt recorded the explosion on a cell phone.

Anyone with information is asked to call Gilroy police at 408-846-0350 and reference case 20-3011.
