SALINAS, Calif. (KION) Three people have been arrested in connection to an armed robbery at Montebella Park early Saturday morning.

Salinas police responded to the park at about 3:15 a.m. for a report that while the victims were smoking in the park, three people approached them, demanded money and asked where they were from.

At one point, police said the suspects began to hit a victim outside their vehicle and demand everything he had. The victim gave the suspects his phone, according to police, but they demanded more. At that point, one of the suspects, a 17-year-old juvenile, reportedly lifted his sweatshirt and showed the victim a semi-automatic handgun.

After that, police said the suspects took items from the second victim, who was sitting in a vehicle.

The suspects then got into a blue pick-up truck and drove away, according to police. The descriptions were broadcast, and police found the vehicle heading west on Bardin Road near Williams Road.

Police conducted a traffic stop and arrested three suspects: a 17-year-old juvenile, 18-year-old Victor Guido and 18-year-old Juan Rodrigez. In the vehicle, officers said they found 9mm rounds of ammunition and the victims' items. They did not find any weapons.

Police said all three suspects were on probation with gang terms. They were all charged with armed robbery, conspiracy and gang enhancements among others.
