Salinas Police: Gang member found with meth, stolen gun

SALINAS, Calif. (KION) Salinas police arrested a man who they say is a gang member following a traffic stop.

Officers stopped the vehicle for a code violation at about 2:15 Sunday morning. Police said the driver, identified as 32-year-old Oscar Gonzalez, was unlicensed, and officers conducted a search.

Officers said they found meth on Gonzalez and a loaded gun in the vehicle that had been reported stolen.

Police checked Gonzalez's record and found that he was a gang member. He was booked into the Monterey County Jail on gun and drug charges.
