SANTA CRUZ COUNTY, Calif. (KION) Cal Fire is warning Santa Cruz County residents that they may see smoke while crews conduct a training burn.

The burn will start at 9 a.m. Wednesday on private property near the Ben Lomond Training Center.

Smoke is expected to be visible around the county, so Cal Fire says residents to not need to call 911.

New and returning seasonal firefighters will practice cutting line, making a mobile attack and firing over 10 acres of grass. Cal Fire said the burn is sanctioned by the Monterey Bay Air Resources District.
