Hollister brush fire that prompted evacuations contained

HOLLISTER, Calif. (KION)

UPDATE 6/12/2020 1:40 p.m. Hollister police said a fire that prompted home evacuations has been contained to about two acres.

No structures have been burned.

PREVIOUS STORY: Hollister police say they are evacuating homes near the Park Hill area because of a brush fire.

Police say the fire is on the north side of the hill and is moving east toward homes on North Street.

The fire department is at the scene along with Hollister police and San Benito County Sheriff's deputies.

Community members are asked to stay away from the area.
