Crews respond to fire near Carmel Valley

CARMEL VALLEY, Calif. (KION)

UPDATE 6/3/2020 4:40 p.m. Cal Fire says the fire is fully contained at one acre.

UPDATE 6/3/2020 4:30 p.m. Cal Fire tells KION that the fire off Mesa de Tierra is 80% contained at 2 acres.

Crews estimate that the fire will be out in about 30 minutes.

UPDATE 6/3/2020 3:30 p.m. Monterey County Regional Fire issued an update on the fire's location. Crews have been rerouted to Mesa de Tierra off Corral de Tierra, not Tierra Vista Lane.

It is currently a two acre grass fire, and fire officials said there are homes nearby.

PREVIOUS STORY: Crews are responding to a vegetation fire around Tierra Vista Lane.

The Monterey County Regional Fire Protection District said it is responding with Cal Fire to the fire off Corral del Cielo.
