MARINA, Calif. (KION) Two Watsonville residents were arrested early Friday morning when Marina police said they were caught burglarizing vehicles.

At around 3:50 a.m., an officer said they saw a vehicle go into an apartment complex in the 3300 block of Del Monte Boulevard. The officer said those in the car pulled on vehicle door handles before leaving the area.

Police conducted a traffic stop and said they found property stolen from the apartment complex in the vehicle. Police said they also found power tools that they believe were stolen from the area around the 3200 to 3300 block of Del Monte Boulevard.

Steven Galloway, 24, and Rachel Hargrove, 29, were both arrested and booked into the Monterey County Jail. They are facing charges that include burglary, conspiracy to commit burglary, possession of stolen property, prowling, possession of controlled substance and violating the Shelter in Place order.

Anyone who had power tools taken overnight is asked to contact Marina police at 831-384-7575 to file a report.

Police remind everyone to lock vehicle doors and not to leave valuables visible inside them.
