GILROY, Calif. (KION) Gilroy City officials say their 'Straight Talk with the City of Gilroy' Zoom meeting was hacked Monday night.

They say the hackers were able to put up "deeply disturbing" imagery. Despite their efforts and immediately shutting down the meeting, the imagery was seen by those viewing and participating in the meeting.

The city extends their deepest apologies to the community and all those affected by the "disturbing incident."

They will be evaluating security protocols for virtual meetings to prevent this type of incident in the future. As for now, Straight Talk with the City of Gilroy is postponed until further notice.
