Abandoned home catches fire outside Watsonville

SANTA CRUZ COUNTY, Calif. (KION) An abandoned home caught fire late Monday night outside Watsonville, according to the Santa Cruz County Sheriff's Office.

Investigators said the fire broke out near Laken Drive and Holohan Road.

Deputies evacuated several families in nearby homes while crews worked to put the fire out.

Nobody was injured and no other homes were destroyed.
