Relief organization shifts aid from global to local during COVID pandemic

HOLLISTER, Calif. (KION)

A nonprofit in Hollister is shifting its focus from international assistance to helping people locally. Volunteers with the Change of Heart Foundation headed to San Benito County on Friday to deliver more than 1,000 meals to families facing financial struggles or seniors who have difficulty leaving their homes.

In just a matter of days, the organization went from helping 50 families to nearly 100. They hope to continue the assistance throughout the shelter-in-place order.

The organization says their efforts are possible thanks to companies like Taylor Farms which has provided produce.
