Dramatic video of deadly 2019 Russian plane fire released by investigators

(AP and KION) New video released by the Russian Investigative Committee shows the landing of a plane on fire at the Sheremetyevo airport in May 2019.

An investigation into the incident has finished, and the plane commander, Denis Yevdokimov, has been charged with a pilot error that killed 41 people.

78 people were aboard the Aeroflot airline Sukhoi SSJ100 when it sped down the runway after landing, spewing flames and black smoke.

The plane, which took off from Moscow, was in the air for only 28 minutes before returning to make an emergency landing. Investigators said the plane was heavy with unburned fuel that ignited after the rough landing.

Video shows flames coming from the plane's underside as it touched down before moving across the rear of the plane's fuselage. Passengers could be seen getting out using an inflatable evacuation slide.
