Sheriff’s Office: Man facing 99 child sex abuse charges may have more potential victims on Central Coast

SANTA CRUZ COUNTY, Calif. (KION) A South Lake Tahoe resident was arrested on 99 counts of charges related to child sex abuse, and investigators there may be more potential victims.

The suspect, 51-year-old Christopher Scott Flanders, used to live in the areas around Boulder Creek, Aptos and Watsonville. The City of South Lake Tahoe said he also lived in Salinas and Pacific Grove.

He is facing charges that include continuous sexual abuse of a child, oral copulation of a victim under the age of 14, lewd acts upon a child under 14 and sexual penetration with a foreign object on a child under 14, according to the City of South Lake Tahoe. More charges, including possession of child pornography, are still pending, according to the city.

Flanders was arrested in Placerville and is booked into the El Dorado County Jail.
