Watsonville driver arrested on DUI charges in connection to major injury crash

SANTA CRUZ COUNTY, Calif. (KION) A Watsonville woman was arrested on DUI charges in connection to a crash that left a man with major injuries.

The driver, 46-year-old Maia Cahill, was heading north on Trabing Road Monday at around 12:20 p.m. when she lost control of her vehicle and left the road.

According to the CHP, Cahill's Ford F-150 overturned and landed on northbound Highway 1.

The passenger in the vehicle, a 51-year-old Watsonville man, was ejected and was taken to Natividad with major injuries.

Cahill was arrested for suspected DUI.
