marinas

Marina Police say three men have been arrested, suspected of various crimes.

Officers say they were patrolling various parts of the city due to an increase in vehicle burglaries in which windows were being broken and personal property was being taken. They say there have been at least 10 of these burglaries over the past two weeks.

Early Thursday morning, one of the officers observed a suspicious vehicle with three occupants in the Brostrom Park area of Marina. The three subjects did not immediately see the officer. The three took off, but were stopped.

Christian Saul Nieves of Marina was arrested for driving on a suspended driver’s license and prowling. Darshaun Ramel Pope of Marina was arrested for prowling and violation of his active parole terms. Armand Jamil Tinsley of Seaside was arrested for prowling and possession of multiple window punches which are considered to be burglary tools.

Additional investigation revealed that Nieves and Pope were in possession of property that had just been stolen from vehicles in a neighboring jurisdiction.

All three subjects were booked into the Monterey County Jail.

Marina Police reminds everyone to be vigilant and report suspicious persons, vehicles or activity immediately.
