Off-duty officers stop attempted robbery on date night

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (KION) Work interrupted date night for two off-duty Kentucky officers.

The couple, two married officers with Elizabethtown police, were having dinner at a restaurant when a masked man went inside.

Louisville police released surveillance video that appears to show the man trying to rob the restaurant with a gun, and police said he demanded cash from an employee.

The video then shows the off-duty officers springing into action and chasing the suspect.

The couple helped Louisville police arrest the suspect a block away.
