Man brought to safety after cliff rescue near Panther Beach

DAVENPORT, Calif. (KION) UPDATE 1/18/20 9:43 p.m. One man is injured after falling off slippery rocks near Panther Beach in Davenport.

CAL Fire's San Mateo - Santa Cruz Unit says the 55-year-old man fell less than 10 feet off the rocks Saturday afternoon and suffered an ankle injury.

Crews performed a rope rescue to get him to safety.

The victim was taken to a local hospital.

A rope rescue is in progress near Panther Beach to get one victim to safety according to CAL Fire San Mateo - Santa Cruz Unit's Twitter account.

They wrote that crews are using a ladder truck to get one patient after responding to a cliff rescue.
