SOQUEL, Calif. (KION) The Santa Cruz County Sheriff's Office said illegal guns were found while detectives served a search warrant at a Soquel apartment.

The apartment, which belongs to Thomas Haggett, was searched at the end of December while Haggett was out of the state. Detectives said they found two illegal guns.

Last week, Haggett was arrested when he returned to Santa Cruz County. The Sheriff's Office said a loaded handgun, an unloaded rifle and a large amount of ammunition and magazines were found during his arrest.

Haggett was booked into the Santa Cruz County Jail.
