Dry weather to continue

There will be no major changes to our overall weather pattern this week, as high pressure will continue to block most weather systems from reaching the Central Coast.

The first of these systems will slide by from late Tuesday through Wednesday morning. Two additional systems will follow on Thursday and Saturday. The systems won’t do much except throw a few clouds our way and perhaps a bit of drizzle and wind. Temperatures should remain within a few degrees of normal.

Monday:
Mostly sunny with just a few high clouds passing through. Dry and gusty northerly winds over the ridgetops with briefly breezy conditions on the exposed coast. Warmer, with highs in the upper 50s to mid 60s.

Monday night: Mostly clear. Overnight lows will drop into the low 40s near the coast, and mid to upper 30s in the valleys and higher elevations.

Tuesday: Mostly clear and chilly early. Then, mostly sunny and mild during the afternoon. Winds will slowly shift back onshore with some cooling effect. Highs mainly in the upper 50s to low 60s. Increasing clouds late with some drizzle possible. Occasionally breezy.

Extended: Cooler and breezy on Wednesday with partly cloudy skies and a few sprinkles possible. Clouds will increase again on Friday and Sunday as weak systems pass through. Temperatures will remain within a few degrees of normal.

The outlook from the Climate Prediction Center for January 13th – 19th calls for the likelihood of BELOW normal temperatures and ABOVE normal precipitation.
