SAN JOSE, Calif. (CBS SF) A San Jose CHP officer was hospitalized after a possible drug exposure during a traffic stop Wednesday afternoon, according to the CBS affiliate in the Bay Area. The incident prompted a hazmat investigation.

KPIX said the officer pulled a car over in the morning for having a tinted license plate near Highway 17 and Hamilton Avenue, and the officer started to feel nauseous during the stop.

When hazmat and fire crews arrived, they said they found drugs in the car's glove compartment. The officer is expected to recover.

The person in the car was arrested, and police are working to find out what the substance is.
