Police looking for suspects in burglary at Judy Wyant Antiques

SANTA CRUZ, Calif. (KION) Police are looking for two people suspected of burglarizing Judy Wyant Antiques in Santa Cruz early Friday morning.

Santa Cruz police responded to a burglary alarm at the store and saw the glass door and glass display cases were shattered and jewelry was missing.

After looking at surveillance video, police saw two people get in by breaking the door and using a hammer to smash cases and steal jewelry inside. Officers said that they put the jewelry in a bag and ran out the back door, and the burglary was over within 90 seconds.

Police said the suspects wore hooded sweatshirts and gloves, but they could not identify their race or gender.

Police estimates the value of the loss is more than $100,000. They are collecting evidence and reviewing security video from areas nearby.
