Residents at Hollister nursing facility evacuated due to flooding

HOLLISTER, Calif. (KION) Residents at the Mabie Northside Skilled Nursing Facility Wednesday afternoon after two hallways flooded.

A spokesperson for Hazel Hawkins Memorial Hospital said in a statement that staff worked with Hollister Fire, AMR, San Benito County Express and the hospital's Emergency Management Team to move all residents to Mabie Southside Skilled Nursing Facility and Hazel Hawkins Memorial Hospital. All of the patients are expected to be moved by 8 p.m.

Staff is working to dry out the facility, and crews will be brought in to make sure the facility is safe before it reopens.
