Suspects in Tushar Atre murder case seen in newly released surveillance video

Newly released surveillance video shows three people who the Santa Cruz County Sheriff's Office believes are involved in the kidnapping and murder of Tushar Atre.

The Sheriff's Office said 50-year-old Atre was kidnaped from his Pleasure Point home "during a crime" the morning of Oct. 1. Atre was later found dead on a property he owned. A pathologist said he died of a gunshot wound and confirmed that it was murder.

The video released by the Sheriff's Office shows the suspects walking out of an alley on East Cliff Drive onto Pleasure Point Drive. One of them can be seen carrying a duffel bag and another has a rifle.

The reward for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of those involved in the crimes has been increased to $150,000. It is offered by members of the community and will last until Dec. 30.

Anyone with information is asked to call Sgt. Ainsworth at 831-454-7635.
