Soquel man arrested on suspicion of sexually assaulting children for more than 10 years

A Soquel man was arrested last week on suspicion of sexually assaulting children over a period of more than 10 years.

Luis Ortiz, 59, is facing more than a dozen counts of sexual assault and lewd acts with a child and is booked into the Santa Cruz County Jail.

The Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s Office said the crimes happened at social events with friends and family. Three potential victims have come forward, but the Sheriff’s Office believes there could be more.
