UC Santa Cruz sees rise in the number of thefts on campus

Police at UC Santa Cruz are investigating a rise in the number of thefts on campus from mid- to late October.

Police said they had three reports of burglaries, seven reports of grand theft and 10 reports of petty theft. Many of them happened in residence halls or parking lots.

Some areas where the reported crimes happened include: Parking lot 116, Village Housing, McHenry Library, Cowell College, Stevenson College, Dickens Way, Rachel Carson College, Parking lot 157, Oakes College, College 8 Dining Hall and Nobel Drive.

Anyone with information is asked to call UCSC police at 831-459-2231 ext. 1. Anyone who needs to report a crime or suspicious behavior is asked to call 911.
