Salinas firefighters attended the funeral of Marine veteran Angel Cervantes on Friday and honored him with a static flag display.
The Salinas City Firefighters Association said he was an active member of the community with Alisal Eagles Football and the Salinas Veteran’s Day Parade committee and offered its condolences to Cervantes’ family.
The 33-year-old veteran died of a massive stroke, leaving behind two sons, according to the chairman of the Veteran’s Day Parade Committee.
The committee held a memorial fundraiser BBQ to raise money for his family on Saturday.
