Two charging stations opening in Santa Cruz County

Two charging stations are opening in the Santa Cruz County as PG&E’s power shutoff continues in parts of the county.

The Boulder Creek Volunteer Fire Department said the fire district is working with Boulder Creek Parks and Rec to open a charging station. The station is currently open.

The department said it has power to charge phones at the Boulder Creek Rec Hall.

Santa Cruz County officials said PG&E is also opening a second community resource center in Felton. It will be open at the Felton Fire Protection District from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The Felton center will be a “sprinter”-type van that will provide charging services for devices that include phones and medical equipment.
