Person of interest identified in fatal Metz Road crash

The California Highway Patrol has identified a person of interest in connection to a fatal crash on Metz Road south of Elm Avenue.

Officers are looking for 31-year-old Agustin Santana-Moncada from King City in connection to the crash. They have been trying to find a driver who fled the crash on foot.

On Sept. 16, the CHP a King City man was driving a Chevrolet Silverado northbound on Metz Road. At the same time, 31-year-old Elizabeth Reed from King City was driving southbound in a Honda Accord.

The CHP said the Silverado hit the rear end of a Honda Civic with two people inside. The Civic was not damaged, and the two people were not injured.

The CHP said the Silverado then swerved into the southbound lane and hit the Accord, causing catastrophic damage. Investigators said the man in the Silverado ran from the scene without checking on Reed, who had life-threatening injuries and was pinned in her car. The two people in the Civic stayed at the scene. Reed died of her injuries at the hospital.

Anyone with information about Santana-Moncada is asked to call King City CHP at 831-385-3216.
