Summer concert series wraps with “Can’t say I ain’t Country” tour

As summer wraps up, so do a lot of outdoor events.

And our friends with Florida Georgia Line and Shoreline Amphitheater invited us to one of the last concerts of their summer concert series…the ‘Can’t say I aint country’ tour.

And if you’re a country fan, you know the lineup was one for the books.

We were lucky enough to check out Florida Georgia Line, Dan and Shay, Morgan Wallen and Caanan Smith.

Before the concert, we caught up with Canaan Smith who tells us California stands apart from other states. It’s his third time being on stage here.

“It’s been a party the whole time. We’ve had a blast. We’ve written a bunch of new songs, we’ve shotgunned a lot of beers, made a lot of new fans. It’s been a great summer,” says Smith.

He was right. From the jump, it was a giant party.

Smith and Wallen covered some beloved hits and some new music, all of which fans completely ate up.

I mean, there’s a certain type of feeling that only a guy with a mullet can bring, right?

We asked Smith about his thoughts on how country music has evolved. He says not much has changed.

“At the core of it, it’s just stories about humans being humans and doing things that we can all connect on because if we’re sharing our experiences through our songs, then that is country music I think. Put a fiddle in the band and you’ve got it all figured out,” says Smith.

And of course, the moment the crowd was waiting for..Florida Georgia Line took the stage covering all bases, sharing their best party hits, along with some of their slower music.

One thing is for sure….you can’t say California ain’t country.

We’re told despite being on tour, all the artists stay productive and do a lot of song writing on their downtime.

Some were whipped up during their trip here…but nothing they can talk about yet.
