Man arrested after running from Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s Deputy

A man on probation is behind bars after trying to run from a sheriff’s deputy in Santa Cruz County.

According to the Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s Office, a deputy spotted Devin Woods on Soquel Drive driving a U-Haul van. After the deputy stopped Woods, he took off on foot through traffic.

Woods was then hit by a vehicle and the deputy caught up with him. The Sheriff’s office said Woods was not hurt.

The deputy later discovered Woods had multiple warrants for his arrest.
