Woman flips jeep off Highway 101 in Salinas

The California Highway Patrol responded to a solo car accident where a jeep flipped over several times and landed off a highway in Salinas.

According to CHP, the accident happened on southbound Highway 101, between Main and East Market Street around 2:18 p.m. Thursday. The driver of the green Jeep Cherokee, 37-year-old Nichole Noroian of Salinas, suffered major injuries and was taken to Natividad Medical Center.

“For reasons still under investigation, the driver allowed the Jeep to veer off the roadway, onto the right shoulder,” said CHP.

Investigators do not believe drugs or alcohol were a factor, however the driver may have had a medical issue at the time of the crash. CHP said the driver was previously suspended for a disability.
