Update: Missing Monterey County 3-year-old girl found
UPDATE: Watsonville police officers say they found a missing 3-year-old girl who was allegedly taken from her Salinas home. Deputies were searching for the girl and her mother, 33-year-old Monique Zamora. Zamora does not have custody of the child.
Police said an anonymous person called authorities saying that the child was dropped off at her home. She did not know deputies were looking for the child and Zamora until after she saw the news on Facebook.
No word yet on the location of Zamora.
PREVIOUS STORY: The Monterey County Sheriff’s Department is asking for the public’s help locating Monique Zamora, 33, who took her 3-year-old daughter from her Salinas home. Deputies said Zamora does not have custody of the child.
At around 3 p.m. Wednesday, young Jaylene Zamora was taken from her house on the 19000 block of Mallroy Canyon in Salinas, deputies said.
Jaylene was last seen wearing white pants with a peach colored top and weighs 40 pounds. Her mother was last seen wearing a white T-shirt with a red heart on the front and blue overalls. She drove-off in a red Toyota 4-Runner with unknown plates.
