Police make arrests in Del Monte Beach homicide

Tuesday Monterey Police announced two arrests in the Del Monte Beach homicide of Abraham Lizama.

Police arrested 22-year-old Victor Hugo Ramos from Salinas and 19-year-old Esmeralda Alejandra Garcia also from Salinas.

Ramos was arrested last Thursday, March 19th, and is charged with murder including a gang enhancement.

Garcia was arrested last Wednesday, March 18th, and is charged with accessory to murder with a gang enhancement.

A 17-year-old was also arrested in the case in Salinas and is being charged with accessory to murder with a gang enhancement.

Investigators say Lizama was shot to death early Saturday morning, March 14th, on the beach near Beach Way and Tide Ave.

The Monterey Police Department Investigations Division, Peninsula Regional Violence and Narcotics Team, Salinas Police Department and the Monterey County Sheriff’s Office all worked on the investigation.

Both Ramos and Garcia are expected to be arraigned Wednesday, March 25th.
